Why Families Choose The CLSP Groups
Fall can be the time for students to get ahead and strengthen the skills they need to be successful during independent adult life. At the College Life Skills Program, all our unique groups are designed for college bound students who want structured support in building confidence, improving independence, and preparing for the next stage of life.
Programs are available nationwide – virtually and in person at our Boca Raton, Florida center.
CLSP has helped students and families since 2012 with skill development focused on emotional maturity, executive functioning, age-appropriate life skills, and social (interpersonal) skill development. This provides students of all ages, the opportunity to work on real-world skills in a supportive environment led by experienced master and doctoral level professionals.
Our Groups
Interpersonal (social skills) Groups
The groups are separated based on age, abilities, and needs, ensuring young adults can not only learn, but utilize and practice theses age-appropriate skills amongst their peers.
Students in the groups work on practical interpersonal growth, including:
- Making and nurturing friendships
- Conversational skills
- Understanding privacy and boundaries
- Self-advocating
- Living with roommates and more
These areas align closely with CLSP’s broader social abilities support, which includes friendship-building, safe technology usage, privacy and boundaries, group participation, and conversational skills.
Executive Functioning Groups
Executive functioning skills are the mental processes responsible for planning, organization, time management, self-regulation, transitioning between activities, task initiation and task completion.
Many young adults often struggle with these essential skills.
The College Life Skills Program provides individualized executive functioning coaching designed to help students build reliable systems for managing academic and life responsibilities.
