Summer can often be a very social time, or it can be a time where children, teens, and young adults shy away from interacting with peers. They may find isolating themselves in their room, playing video games, and overall, not having any time with friends or others to be more of their preferred summertime activities. Either way, if they are not practicing the social skills they had developed and learned over the year, then those skills may begin to weaken.
It is also important to note that just because they are going to camp every day or see friends doesn’t mean they are utilizing their social skills properly. Since they are no longer in an as structured environment like school, they may begin to no longer act in a proper manner. According to one source, “The transition from a structured school schedule to the unstructured days of summer can be more disruptive than many families expect. Without a consistent routine, children may struggle to maintain healthy sleep habits, regular meals, and daily activities. This lack of structure can throw off their natural rhythms, leading to mood swings and emotional instability,” (Bestlife, 2025).
This is why we at the Support for Students Growth Center and College Life Skills Program offer summer intensive groups to help prevent this decline. Each session is for one week (5 days), for 2 hours each day, so you can either fit it into one week during your busy vacation, or you can build the momentum for success with multiple weeks! We use strategies such as engaging activities, role-playing, and real time coaching so students can not only learn skills but practice them.
Our programs are designed for students of all ages (5-25) and can be attended in person in our Boca Raton office, or virtually anywhere with internet! We help give them the tools they need to connect, communicate, and thrive this summer. Spots are limited, so register today to avoid the risk of losing all the hard work they put in during the school year.
Each group is interactive, practical, and led by master and doctoral professionals who will aid students of all ages with learning and utilizing strategies that can be applied in everyday life. Our summer services are available in person at our Boca Raton center and can also be accessed VIRTUALLY, from practically anywhere with internet! We offer summer intensive programs led by Master and Doctoral level coaches to help prepare them for what’s ahead. We target real-world social skills, strengthen executive functioning, and more to ensure students are engaged, confident, growing, and ready for independent life. With expert guidance in a supportive, structured environment offered both in our Boca Raton office and virtually, young adults can not only maintain but grow their skills so they can be reaching the success they are more than capable of.
